Frequently asked questions:

Am I technically enrolled if I only registered?
Students cannot enroll themselves for classes at Ox-Bow. If you have not received a registration statement then you are not technically enrolled. All switches and drops in this pre-registration stage will not incur fees.

Can I still register for another course that isn't cancelled?
We will be happy to put you on the waitlist for any other class you would like to take but at the moment, all classes are full.

If I can register in another course, do I need to fill out the registration form again?
We are having individual conversations with every student and will be taking notes on their preferences and plan for attending. No new registration forms are being accepted.

Do I need permission from the professor prior to registering/enrolling?
No.

I'm still concerned about traveling on an airplane to get to Ox-bow.
We are committed to the safety of our community first and foremost. If you are concerned about traveling or spending time on our communal campus this summer, we encourage you to make the decision that is best for you. If you decide not to take the class at this time you will receive a full refund. If you decide to officially register at this point the drop policy will apply to your account. See Drop Policy.

If there is any way I can defer my participation to next summer?
Given the unique nature of each Ox-Bow summer we cannot defer enrollment to any other summer. We do encourage you to register in 2021 if you want to take a class the new catalog of classes comes out each January. Scholarships cannot be deferred.

When will I receive my registration confirmation?
As soon as we complete the calls with all students we will begin submitting enrollments into PeopleSoft and sending registration statements. We greatly appreciate your patience up to this point.

What if the summer is cancelled?
We are staying optimistic about the new summer schedule and will closely monitor the COVID-19 pandemic. Your safety and the safety of our community is our priority and we will make decisions accordingly. If Ox-Bow decides to make any further cancellations we will update you as soon as possible and full refunds will be issued.

What is the current Drop Policy?
Our drop policy has changed slightly to alleviate some concerns. If Ox-Bow cancels a class or reschedules during a time that you cannot attend, an enrolled student is eligible for a full refund. If the class does not get canceled but you chose not to attend the course, please let us know at least three weeks in advance. From the time you receive registration confirmation until 3 weeks before the start of your class you will receive a full refund minus a $100 drop fee. If you drop within 3 weeks of the start date of your class, no refunds will be given.

What is the current Room Policy?
Ox-Bow prioritizes the safety of its students and community. In 2020 we are moving to a single room occupancy model. If you are registered for a class and requested to live on campus, you will automatically be assigned a single room. The rate for room & board will remain the same, $625 per week. What are the current Cleaning Protocols?
Ox-Bow’s housekeeping staff cleans common areas, including bathrooms, the kitchen, and dining areas on a daily basis using anti-viral cleaning agents. Our staff thoroughly cleans dorm rooms and changes and washes all bedding and rugs before the next student moves in. A set of cleaning supplies will be stored in every studio. Every shared bathroom will be equipped with paper towels for hygienic hand-drying and hand sanitizer stations will be located in communal campus areas. We will be providing cleaning supplies to any campus community member upon request. View our helpful Summer 2020 Student Guide
