Support Our Special Initiatives
The Ox-Bow School of Art & Artists’ Residency is dedicated to fostering creativity, community, and preservation. These are three key initiatives driving our focus that you can be a part of cultivating today:
Ox-Bow House Seed Fund
With the expiration of Ox-Bow House’s lease on the horizon, several advocates of Ox-Bow’s mission including, Linda Salisbury, Sam and Janene Cummings, Todd Warnock and Elizabeth Chamberlain, and John Williams and Martin Fluhrer, have joined forces to create a seed fund towards the formal purchase of Ox-Bow House. To date we have raised $250,000 towards the $430,000 purchase price!
Ox-Bow House has been integral in expanding our reach into the local community – providing a threshold for meeting community members and visitors alike. Over our first 2 years as a pilot program, Ox-Bow House hosted a diverse array of programs, including art exhibitions, artist talks, performances, and the Cavern Tavern. Our gallery has showcased the artwork of our alumni, told Ox-Bow and American history through our archives, and supported staff, alumni, local and regional artists through the sale of their work.
Your contribution to this fund would bring us closer to ensuring Ox-Bow House remains a permanent part of not only Ox-Bow’s artistic heritage, but that the building itself remains a part of historic downtown Douglas.
Scholarship Opportunities
If you are interested in having a direct impact on the trajectory of a young artist’s life, Ox-Bow offers a variety of scholarships for students taking credit or non-credit courses to ensure that the Ox-Bow experience is open to everyone. Our scholarships provide critical financial assistance, enabling talented individuals from diverse backgrounds to pursue their artistic passions. By supporting these scholarships, you help nurture the next generation of artists and contribute to a more inclusive and vibrant artistic community.
Founders' Stewardship Fund
The Founders' Stewardship Fund is dedicated to growing resources to support the ongoing care and preservation of our historic campus and natural environment. This fund ensures that our unique and inspiring spaces are maintained for future generations of artists. Contributions to the Founders' Stewardship Fund help us preserve the natural beauty and historical significance of Ox-Bow, sustaining our mission of providing a serene and nurturing environment for creativity and artistic growth.
