Tea & Trails
April 27, 2024, 10:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
Explore Ox-Bow’s Tallmadge Woods as it becomes the newest member of the Old Growth Forest Network. Join us for this community event as you stroll the trails, learn about the forest, sip tea, and immerse yourself in the beauty of our natural environment. Tickets are $10 per person or $40 per family. All funds raised will go to support Ox-Bow’s Founders Stewardship Fund which supports ongoing care & preservation of our historic campus and natural environment.
Guests will have the opportunity to talk and learn from community partners like the Dunes Coastal Alliance, Land Conservancy of West Michigan, Kalamazoo River Watershed Council, Gun Lake Tribe Environmental Department, Trout Unlimited and more.
Ox-Bow’s new tea partner, zakti tea, will be on hand to offer a tea gratitude ceremony to kick off the event and then educate and provide tea for all guests to sit and drink or enjoy along the trail. Trail snacks will be provided by our culinary department.
Don’t forget your forest swag! Mugs designed by our very own Maggie Bandstra, Mike Taylor, and other local artists will be for sale when you buy your tickets and at the event. Reserve a mug in advance for $25 or get one for $30 at the event. Marushka has designed a special tote bag to commemorate the Tallmadge Woods being the newest member of the Old Growth Forest Network; you can take one home for only $20.
Note about accessibility: this event will be held in the woods on the Crow’s Nest Trail. Conditions will include a hiking trail, uneven surfaces, tree debris, potentially inclement weather, and wildlife.
