Teresa Silva is interested in creating supportive spaces for artists to engage with one another through dialogue and collaboration. As Director of Exhibitions & Residencies at the Chicago Artists Coalition, she works in tandem with artists and curators to advance their creativity by connecting them with leading professionals and encouraging experimentation in their work. As a writer and curator, Silva has composed exhibition essays for numerous artists and has organized various shows throughout Chicago and the Midwest. She is a member of the artist collective, Tiger Strikes Asteroid Chicago. She also serves as Board President for VGA Gallery and Board Member for Heaven Gallery, both thriving artist-run spaces in Chicago.
